Two for the Road

Dec
02

Two things that David has mentioned in recent satsangs have been of ongoing use as potent dhyanams, or focal points of meditation for me. The first is:

"A yogi's mind should be like a steady candle flame in a quiet room."

No Separation From Grace

Recently, I have been going through a very difficult period in my life. A serious back injury has kept me in great pain and on my back for much of the summer and fall. The subsequent surgery, from which I am still recovering, has also been a trial on my patience and resources. During this time, I have not been able to attend any of David’s programs, and even meditation time has been a challenge. These difficulties occur on top of the usual ones I live with having to do with health problems, disability and the financial hardships that these kinds of circumstances can bring about.

I thought you all would enjoy this photo I took of David's feet during a recent Friday night event in Larkspur, CA. I must have snapped a dozen shots of David that night but the picture he was most fond of is the picture posted below. Notice how David's feet come together in a mudra.

Meeting David in Person

Oct

My desire to meet David in person became very strong over time. I was immersed in Bhakti, my heart was overflowing with longing. I felt as if David had given me everything, even though I live overseas. Found this beautiful Poem on internet and wanted to share with everyone:

The guided breath surrendered to the deity of bliss
The mind in its awareness gripping form to be spirit
The fire beyond the mind laying forth the body as the mundane finite

The three of oneness as past, present and future breaking into the infinite now

The Serpent God

Sep

A great Intensity shines out within Being pushing everything out of consciousness. It tolerates neither I nor mine and destroys all identity and identification. It dissolves all appearance of solidity and objectivity. It cares nothing about duality or non-duality. Its fierceness is uncompromising with reptilian passion: absolutely without any emotional tone. It does not even identify with equanimity. It is the end of feeling, and opens the way for Love. Sometimes, when pleased It might reveal just the barest hint of a smile, and there arises a quietude of wild and unbounded joy.

David's Second Interview with Reena from SoulAlert.com

Sep

David's second interview with Reena from SoulAlert.com took place recently and I posted more about it in the forum. I loved this interview and while discussing it with David, he told us that the very last thing he said right before the interview ended was the most profound moment of the entire discussion.
