Fairfield Intensive

Jun
21

And wasn't I shocked when I saw David's picture in our local paper, that he was coming to Fairfield for an intensive. I first met David on Buddha at the Gas Point where Rick Archer does interviews. That was about 6 years ago and I had never met David in person until this past Thurs. public meeting. After watching 6 years of videos and webcasts I have to say his darshan in person is ten times more powerful.

Simple Pleasures

Dec

It's just me and the candle. I'm watching the stark contrast of the milky white of the candle against the black background of the night sky, the flame casting a flickering orange shadow on the window frame. The sweet vanilla aroma of the candle reaches my nostrils and the tinkle of the wind chimes outside my window rings in my ears. I am aware that the gentle movement of my body as I sit in meditation is one with the rhythm of the flicker of the candle, the aroma, the tinkle of chimes, the hum of the furnace coming on, and the silence of awareness.

Out of the Coal Mine

Oct
06

Out of the coal mine into your heart!
No separation here now. Nothing can keep us apart.
Like a freight train gone past go, but right here at start.
Go back to the garden now. It’s time to be in God.
The tree of life is inside of you. It blooms like Aron’s rod.
We ate of the tree of knowledge. It put us under the law.
Got to go back to innocence. Unblock the silver cord.
Out of the coal mine into your heart.
No separation here now. Nothing can keep us apart.

is happiness permenant or always subject to change

Aug

I was thinking about Doug's question on the forum. If you think of the innocence of a child, he's happy most of the time except for times when he falls and skins his knee or wanders off and discovers he's all alone for a few seconds until he see's his mother watching him. Then the pain of the skinned knee and the moment of fear vanishes and he is happy again. He's happy most of the time because he's innocent, but ignorant of who he really is.

Courage

Apr

I listened to David's webcast tonight and wanted to share my thoughts about courage. Someone asked on the webcast if courage is needed for realization. David said something to the effect that it brought up to him courage that is associated with the military and the wrong use of power. That is certainly one way of thinking about the word courage. In that context, courage would not be necessary for realization as David pointed out.

After listening to tonight's webcast I listened to some relaxing Zen music. The effect of the webcast carried over into the listening. I was aware of awareness, energy and love. The vibrations of this music gently hit up against this heart and flowed out in all directions.

Tonight’s webcast got me fired up because I love the topic of prayer. I like to inquire or delve deeply into the subject from both a dual and non-dual perspective.

Streaming

Last night's webcast got me in a cognition mode and I came into a clearer understanding of reality. The concept of reality having manifested from the past as a creation is a very strong cultural idea. I had a former teacher who pointed out that the source of life can be found at every point but I never thought about this with regard to the manifest world as a non-linear happening. It just all came to me when I asked David in consciousness and the words streaming in every moment came to me.

Such a Beautiful Day

It seems like I have reached another milestone in my spiritual walk. The peace and contentment is more apparent in my daily life then ever before. It use to be that I rarely was at peace outside of meditation. David's transmission has been so very beneficial in bringing this about.

Such Grace

May

I’m listening to Raga Megha, an Indian rain melody. I’m watching the beautiful scenery on the video. The beautiful flute music and the sight and sound of the waterfall flowing into a pool below. I’m so sensitive to music and the display of nature. It just all flows together in bliss and love. To be born in a human body is such grace. To be in the position to be able to just observe the reality of what is and to know that this is all a play of who we are. To be able to just be innocent and enjoy, to know the truth and then just enjoy it.
